Almost two weeks after its launch, the Otherside Metaverse released exclusive fragments of in-game footage and gameplay features on Twitter and its website.

@OthersideMeta, Otherside Metaverse’s official Twitter handle, first posted a sneak peek of what they are referring to as the ‘First Trip’ in the form of a brief video clip on May 11. This was a tech demo from Improbable, responsible for the technical aspects of the gameplay.

Along with the gameplay footage, Otherside also shared the first look of “The Voyager’s Journey” roadmap for Otherside NFT holders. The roadmap was simultaneously updated on their website with further details.

Gamers were pleasantly surprised to see critical updates from the Otherside gameplay revealed so early in the development stages.

About the Otherside Metaverse

Yuga Labs, the company behind the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), has been making big moves in the Web3 space. BAYC is establishing a high bar for other firms in the NFT market, from their purchase of CryptoPunks and Meebits to the ApeCoin drop. The introduction of the Otherside metaverse was their most recent move in this direction.

Otherside is a metaverse gaming environment that is set to bring together a number of NFT projects such as the Apes, CryptoPunks, Meebits, Cool Cats, and others. Yuga Labs, the creator of Bored Ape, is working on the experience alongside NFT games publisher Animoca Brands.

Otherdeed for Otherside

The open metaverse RPG Otherside is compatible with Yuga Labs’ other popular NFTs. This metaverse planet is said to have virtual plots of land with rare characters, rare objects, and natural resources.

Although nothing much is known about the Otherside metaverse at this time, the team’s giveaways from time to time do offer some clues.

For example, the Otherside metaverse teaser video published in March featured an Ape fishing on the dock outside of the club, waiting for a good catch. What he caught was much better than he had expected: a drink that would transport him to the ‘Otherside,’ an entirely different world.

Several big-name NFT IPs were also previewed in the trailer, suggesting that Otherside is not only a place limited to BAYC fans but for everyone.

What the Recent Reveal says about the Otherside Metaverse

The latest video leak by @OthersideMeta on Twitter shows another Bored Ape travelling what it seems like a single land parcel in the Otherside Metaverse. The running Ape passes through several land undulating terrains, such as a short bridge with a rapid stream beneath, a cliff, and finally a dark forest opening into a lake.

Finally, the characteristic lake house of the Bored Ape Yacht Club was given away.

The footage has revealed key attributes of the in-game environment, such as a sneak peek into what a land parcel looks like, and how apes can ‘jump’ from either a parcel or level to another.

Dubbed the ‘First Trip’, the footage reveals the first part of the NFT holder’s roadmap, described as a “celebration of what’s to come as well as an occasion to congregate, explore, and prepare.”

@OthersideMeta also left behind a message on this roadmap – called ‘The Voyager’s Journey’ on Otherside for its community – with a second post. The Journey has been further detailed on their website as a roadmap for Otherside NFT holders.

The Voyager’s Journey highlights what users will be able to do if they own an NFT in the Otherside Metaverse in the coming months as more of the game is released. It links back to the minting of Otherside NFTs that took place on April 30 on the official website.

The tweet reads, “Fragments of the Obelisk have washed ashore in the Biogenic Swamp. Voyagers, your Otherdeed is your key to helping build the Otherside metaverse. As we reassemble the Obelisk together, the Otherside comes to life.”

The ‘Biogenic Swamp’ is located at the centre of the Otherside, and 10,000 copies were released on April 30. On this “journey,” anyone who has Otherdeed NFTs instantly becomes a Voyager. They can reassemble the Obelisk fragments using their Otherdeed NFTs to help establish the Otherside Metaverse.

The reveals have resulted in a noticeable spike in interest from the BAYC community and beyond, with all eyes on what future developments the Otherside metaverse reveals in the coming days.

The Otherside drop was definitely one of the year’s most anticipated. Now, with the reveal of exciting gameplay and features, Otherside has further teased its community’s interest.

Your capital is at risk.
