Anthony Pompliano, the founder of crypto hedge fund Morgan Creek Digital, has spent the past few years advocating for crypto and blockchain acceptance. The investor’s latest venture plans to build the industry through talent acquisition.

Meet PompCryptoJobs

The Bitcoin evangelist known colloquially as “Pomp” announced PompCryptoJobs, a new job portal for blockchain developers and associated industry talent. The portal is launching with several partners including Coinbase, Gemini and crypto loan financier BlockFi.

The platform is now live, with up to 100 open positions – most of which are from Pomp’s partners in the recruitment initiative.

The job portal comes at a time when the blockchain industry is experiencing a boom. As the market cap of popular cryptocurrencies rise, exchanges, brokerages and other blockchain firms are actively recruiting to meet future demand of their services.

PompCryptoJobs hopes to provide an avenue for talent-hungry firms to find effective workers looking to transition. As Pompliano told CoinDesk, he hopes to list over ten thousand jobs by the turn of the year.

Pompliano’s assertion definitely holds true. This is a period of significant expansion in the blockchain space, and companies are upscaling fast in a bid to spread their operations.

Exploding Demand for Blockchain Talent

Earlier this month, LinkedIn Learning, the educational arm of the top professional network, said in a blog post that Blockchain would be the world’s most in-demand skill this year. Despite being a relative newcomer to the list, blockchain-as-a-skill could leapfrog high-demand jobs like cloud computing, artificial intelligence, analytics, and user experience design to become the top hard skill in demand among employers.

LinkedIn Learning highlighted Blockchain’s significant potential in the blog post, explaining that the technology has moved from being a buzzword to a concept with incredible real-world applications.

“Blockchain has emerged from the once shadowy world of cryptocurrency to become a business solution in search of problems. Which means that you don’t have to be in financial services to be seeking new hires who have background and expertise in putting Blockchain to use.”

LinkedIn Learning also emphasized that several high-profile firms – including IBM, JPMorgan, Amazon, and Oracle – have made significant investments into the technology.
