In yet another move that could improve cryptocurrency integration and adoption across the world, the Opera browser has provided users with easy access to crypto purchases using its mobile and desktop interfaces.

The Norwegian Internet giant has partnered with U.S.-licensed money transmitting service Wyre to allow its American customers to buy Bitcoin with a debit card directly from their Bitcoin wallets on its platform.

With the new service, Android users will be able to make these purchases with their debit cards, while users on iOS devices will now be able to enjoy integration through the Apple Pay service.

Easier Crypto Access and Functionality

The Opera browser – both Opera for Android and Apple’s Opera Touch – has perhaps been the browser with the highest level of appreciation for cryptocurrencies. While residents in Norway, Denmark, and Sweden have been able to enjoy its services for about a while now, however, a spokesperson for the firm confirmed that they would be looking to roll out seamless crypto top-ups in the future.

The company has especially touted its Apple Pay integration, claiming that it will make it easy for users to go from “zero to crypto” in less than a minute.

Speaking with industry news source Cointelegraph, Charles Hamel, the company’s Head of crypto, said, “In the past, obtaining cryptocurrencies was a cumbersome process that took hours or even days. When you compare it with this seamless solution, which takes less than 30 seconds, it really is a game-changer.”

The company also explained that it would be looking into various other ways to take out barriers to crypto adoption.

Opera’s Affinity with Web 3

As stated earlier, the firm has done quite a lot to improve cryptocurrency growth and adoption in the world, especially through its adoption of Web 3.0 capabilities. In a world where several browsers have taken charge, it’s now on each one to show their uniqueness and corner an audience that will see them raise their share of the market. Opera has chosen the innovative path, helping to improve cryptocurrency access and privacy tools.

In the past two years, the company has presented several developments concerning Web 3, with the involvement of blockchain, digital currencies, and decentralized computing being its focus. The Opera Touch has seen it expand its browser presence across the two most popular operating systems, and the browser also supports Ethereum WEB3 apps and the entire Ethereum protocol.

Last October, the company announced in a press release that it had made it possible for its over 350 million users to send and receive Bitcoin directly from its browser, as well as improve their ability to use crypto assets to make goods and services purchases on e-commerce platforms.

As the release explained, the browser will now enable adding a TRON and Bitcoin card into its built-in wallet, thus helping users to monitor their cryptocurrency holdings. Hamel explained at the time that the firm believes its browser will benefit from opening up to more blockchains, thus providing ease of access to anyone who has a crypto wallet and making cryptocurrencies even more practical in the hands of holders.
