American Professional Football team, Houston Texans, has partnered with Houston-based crypto exchange, BitWallet. The football team made this revelation via a post on its official web page. According to the announcement, BitWallet will become the official digital currency Wallet of the Houston Texans. In what Houston Texans described as an ‘exclusive partnership,’ the collaboration will go into effect immediately.
The collaboration will aid club fans in purchasing some of its merchandise using crypto. This includes the privilege of acquiring single game suites via BitWallet. The crypto exchange will serve as an intermediary that will help convert crypto to US dollars, thus assisting the fans to pay the dollar value of items in crypto.
Houston Texans emerged as the first team to sell a suite using crypto. Therefore, adding to the team chain of records in the NFL. Currently, the team is the youngest expansion team competing in the NFL.
A game suite is a luxurious private viewing box within the NRG stadium, the home ground of the Houston Texans. Game suites are usually complimented with buffets, expensive drinks, attendants, restrooms, TVs, and a strategic location to watch the game.
Also, the announcement revealed how Houston-based virtual marketing firm EWR Digital became the first to acquire the suite. The President of Houston Texans, Greg Grissom, expressed his excitement over the partnership. The president said the team is proud to partner with BitWallet to provide an exciting option for fans who want to enjoy gameday in one of the club’s suites.
Furthermore, the President regarded BitWallet as a perfect partnership with the needed support to move the club forward. Grissom admitted that the collaboration with the crypto exchange would push the team toward a creative direction.
Meanwhile, the CEO of BitWallet, John T. Perrone, also reflected on the development. Perrone opined that virtual currency is gradually becoming a primary means of payment. The CEO said the partnership with Texans had pushed it up in the league of innovative teams in the NFL. The CEO added that his firm is honored to become the first crypto exchange to offer Texans fans the service.
Gradually, crypto is finding its feet in the NFL sphere. Dallas Cowboys emerged as the first club in the league to partner with a crypto firm. Around April, the team partnered with Blockchain.com, making the crypto firm its official virtual asset partner. Last year, the league and the NFL Players Association collaborated with Dapper Labs to inaugurate a licensed NFL ALL Day NFT collection.
