Fox is collaborating with the co-creator of Rick and Morty to create an NFT marketplace. The NFT will be used for its soon-to-premier series dubbed ‘Krapopolis.’
The partnership of Fox with Dan Harmon, the co-creator of Rick and Morty, will enable the film company to launch its animated comedy series on blockchain technology. The NFT sale will include the characters and the artwork used in developing the show.
Fox Embraces Crypto
The popular comedy series known as Krapopolis will develop NFTs that illustrate Rick, Morty, and other characters in the animated series. The new project also seeks to reward some of the most devoted fans of the show with tokens to give them access to ‘exclusive social experiences.’ However, the parties involved have not given a timeline as to when the project will be launched.
In addition, Fox has also announced the launch of a new NFT company knows as ‘Blockchain Creative labs.’ The company will link Krapopolis with other shows launched on blockchain in the future. According to the CEO of Fox Entertainment, Charlie Collier, the new company will be innovative and linked with advertising partners.
“Not to go too far today, but as an adviser-centric, artist-first, and animation-obsessed company, Fox will lead advertisers into the world of blockchain-powered tokens, including the NFTs,” Collier stated.
The boom of NFTs
NFTs have become a major attraction not only in crypto spaces but also in the art, collectibles, and entertainment sectors. Many celebrities and sports players such as Eminem, Floyd Mayweather, and Tyson Fury have launched their own NFTs. Tom Brady, one of the most reputable American football players, has also announced he is launching an NFT platform known as ‘Autograph’ soon. Brady is also known for his participation in the crypto sector.
In the entertainment sector, Star Wars, one of the most popular sci-fi movie brands, has also joined the NFT craze. According to the film producers, fans will be able to purchase over 800 NFT collectibles known as ‘StarColls.’
The project will integrate iconic Star Wars collectibles using innovative blockchain technology to create a new era for the parties involved.
Notably, the registration of Star Wars NFTs started on May 4. The day is on the calendar of fans of the film, as it is known as ‘Star Wars Day’ – a focus for celebrating all things Star Wars.
