ZachXBT, an on-chain crypto detective renowned for revealing data about scams and hacks, has launched a fresh investigation against the popular YouTuber and collector “Blue.” The Crypto sleuth has associated Blue with the notorious NFT phishing group “Monkey Drainer.”

ZachXBT Accuses YouTuber “Blue” Of Scam

In a July 10 blog post, ZachXBT shared a short research associating YouTuber Blue “Jack” with the scam. The crypto sleuth has revealed Blue has been closely working with several drainers services, including the Monkey Drainer, to steal more than $1.5 million worth of NFTs.

According to ZachXBT’s findings, Blue began to scam sometime in 2021, when the NFT market blossomed. At the time, Blue started to by amassing an audience of more than 122k subscribers by uploading gaming and trolling videos to YouTube.

Before turning into crime, Blue was a decorated investor, with him even buying a Bored Ape Yacht Club #8668 using a cool-breeze domain sometime in October 2022. After a short time, he began radicalizing more people to join his non-fungible token phishing syndicate.

Detailed findings show that the same domain, “Cool-breeze.eth” Blue used to purchase his Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs, has received a third of stolen funds from eight addresses involved in Monkey Drainer phishing scams. The interconnection showcases Blue was most likely linked with the NFT phishing group.

Monkey Drainer is the pseudonymous phishing scammers who use smart contracts to steal non-fungible tokens through a process known as “ice phishing.” The Monkey Drainer is believed to have operated since late 2022. Over the past six months, the Monkey Drainer script has stolen over $24 million.

The individual or individuals behind the phishing scam have stolen millions of dollars worth of Ether (ETH) via malicious copycat non-fungible token minting websites. The investigation has also found that YouTuber Blue has worked with Monkey Drainer and other drainer services to steal more than $1.5 million.

Based on the lifestyle audit, Blue has used the stolen funds on luxury watches, cars, shoes, Roblox items, and gambling on Stake. Despite stealing the life-changing sum of money, Blue shows little signs of slowing down his malicious scamming habit.

Earlier this month, Blue and his scamming team stole 61.5 ETH from LoveMake.eth in a phishing attack. Blue received 49 ETH and 74,000 USDT for him after the drainer fee. Blue specializes in spamming on Twitter with verified accounts. Blue is most likely to spread his hand to Thread, a new social media platform similar to Twitter.
