Founded in 1974, Casio is a multinational electronics manufacturing corporation headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. The electronics firm is renowned for producing a wide range of products, including calculators, mobile phones, digital cameras, musical instruments, analogue and digital watches.
The electronic company Casio has also become well known for the wide variety and innovation of affordable wristwatches. Although Casio rose to fame due to its inexpensive and durable digital watches, the company has advanced to create a luxury watch line called “Casio Oceanus.” These watches are known for their high-quality materials, advanced technology, and elegant design.
Casio Crypto And NFT Journey
Casio showcased plans to join the crypto and non-fungible token space in August 2023. At the time, Casio filed a trademark application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, covering virtual clothing and watches, NFT-backed media and stores for virtual goods.
Based on the data submitted, Casio showcased plans to harness the popularity of the shock-resistant watch, which the company said has shipped over 100 million units since 1983. In September, the Japanese electronics giant partnered with Ethereum’s scaling developer, Polygon Labs, to launch its virtual G-SHOCK watch on Polygon’s protocols.
Earlier this year, Casio partnered with the Doodles for a groundbreaking NFT-inspired watch collection, marking the brand’s continued foray into the Web3 space. Doodles is a blue-chip, non-fungible token collection featuring a limited edition of 10,000 digital cartoons hosted on the Ethereum blockchain network.
