Ripple has focused on creating payment systems that bring together cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies.

The crypto firm has entered into partnerships with several traditional financial institutions to provide these bodies with a platform for the seamless transfer of funds across borders.

The system created by Ripple is named Xpring, and it enables individuals and financial institutions to execute transactions using Ripple’s native XRP token.

Ripple working on expanding Xpring’s range of services

Xpring is reportedly close to launching a platform that will allow developers to bring crypto and fiat payments to any apps that they work on.

The platform that Xpring is launching comes with a software development kit (SDK) which gives developers the means to integrate applications with several programming languages.

It also brings with it a set of tools that will allow one to work on both Ripple’s Interledger Protocol (ILP) and XRP.

The range of programming languages that are accommodated on the new Xpring platform shows that the firm is opening itself up to programmers and developers from a non-crypto background which is not common among blockchain-based projects.

Ethan Beard, senior vice president of Xpring, said that the firm is expanding its target market to accommodate developers that have not engaged with cryptocurrency in the past.

Xpring SDK and options for developers

Beard said that SDK allows the programmer to use the XRP ledger with little trouble and they can use any programming language that they prefer.

This will give the developers the freedom they need to create applications in a programming language with which they are most comfortable.

Beard went on to say that tasks that would typically take a developer 100 lines of code to execute will take these developers 80% less time when they make use of Xpring SDK.

Ripple’s Xpring platform is built on open-source protocols. The new platform that is being constructed by Xpring would function similarly to existing platforms such as Amazon Web Services according to Beard.

Programmers that use the new platform would be able to access code, download it and run it on their systems. The developers could also use the code via Xpring’s plugin services.

Beard said that the ultimate vision is for the platform to be used for the processing of micropayments across various industries.

He added that they think this new platform will work for any payment, which is what Xpring has been seeking to do since its inception.

While Xpring seeks to develop payment systems, they are aware that blockchain and cryptocurrency can be difficult to work with given they are new technologies and this is why they have created a platform through which developers can program using any language they are comfortable with.

Removing the existing barriers that come with these new technologies will ensure that there is greater adoption across the world.

As more developers are given platforms that allow them to create applications, the number of use cases for cryptocurrency continues to grow, and this will lead to mass adoption of the asset class.
