Iconic music rapper and entrepreneur Snoop Dogg has launched a new non-fungible token collection offering holders access to exclusive content throughout his upcoming music tour. The crypto investor and NFT collector is set to begin his music career in July.
Snoop Dogg Drops New NFT Collection
In a June 14 site publication, Snoop Dogg confirmed launching a new non-fungible token collection, ” Passport NFT”, that promises to offer holders access to exclusive content in his upcoming music tour next month. Snoop’s highly anticipated music career tour is set to start on July 7.
According to the website, the Passport NFT will provide exclusive access to ongoing, including behind-the-scenes video and images uploaded by Snoop and his team. Snoop will also unveil Snoop Selects, a curated collection of works from select NFT artists that will be dropped for free to all Passport holders.
The first group of Snoop Selects artists will include Coldie, Terrell Jones, and Alien Queen. NFT collectors holding Passport NFT will be granted access to future Snoop Dogg drops, playlists, the ability to buy merchandise, and event tickets. While commenting about the NFT collection, Snoop Dogg remarked:
“With the Passport Series, I can give my fans the opportunity to travel the world with me — no one’s ever done that. I’ve always been a pioneer, and digital merch is part of the future. I’m hoping other artists can see what I’m doing and continue to innovate on their own.”
Snoop Dogg has partnered with digital assets incubation studio Transient Labs to launch the new NFT collection. In turn, while commenting about the new non-fungible token project, Chris Ostoich, the chief operating officer at Transient Labs, remarked:
“Having the opportunity to connect one of the world’s greatest artists to fans in such a creative and engaging way is a great representation of what we’re all about at Transient Labs.”
Snoop Dogg Metaverse And NFT Push
Both Snoop Dogg and his son, Cordell Broadus, have been heavily involved in NFT collection and crypto investment for the last few years. At one point, the rapper even teased plans to turn Death Row Record into “the first major label in the metaverse.”
Last year, Snoop Dogg and his music counterpart Eminem disguised in their Bored Apes NFT avatar and performed lived in the metaverse from their MTV TV show. In 2021, the iconic rapper released his first NFT collection called “A Journey with the Dogg,” which included a song called “NFT.”
In the meantime, the passport NFT collection is available for purchase for about $42 or 0.025 ETH through Crossmint, an NFT payment processor, or various crypto wallets. The NFT collection is available on snooppassport.xyz.
