Established in 2021, Pudgy Penguins is a digital asset firm initially founded by Cole Thereum and Mr Tubby but now under the leadership of a prominent entrepreneur Luca Nets. The digital asset firm is renowned in the NFT market for its Pudgy Penguins and Lil Penguins NFT collection.
The Pudgy Penguins team launched its Lil Pudgy, a non-fungible token collection that features a limited edition of 22,222 cute, chubby owl birds hosted on the Ethereum network in 2021. Earlier this year, the Pudgy Penguins team launched their Pudgy Penguins NFT collection.
The Pudgy Penguins team has gained immense popularity among collectors and investors, thanks to NFT influencers, celebrity collectors, and media coverage. This massive adoption and warm reception has made Pudgy Penguins slowly evolve and become a top-ranking NFT brand.
In response to growing demand, the Pudgy Penguins team has expanded its offering beyond digital collectibles, venturing into plush physical collectibles and merchandise. These products connect the digital and physical worlds so that collectors can interact with their favorite penguin avatars in real life.
Pudgy Penguins team started selling physical NFT-inspired toys earlier this year through the e-commerce marketplace, Amazon, where the brand amassed more than $500,000 in purchases over the first two days, surpassing 20,000 individual toys sold.
Pudgy Penguins NFT Brand Keeps Thriving
On September 26, the Pudgy Penguins team debuted its NFT-inspired Pudgy Toys collection across 2,000 Walmart stores in the United States. Each toy had a unique birth certificate that allowed users to claim unique traits for their digital ‘Forever Pudgy’ character inside the Pudgy World, an online virtual world built on the zkSync Era blockchain, by scanning a QR code.
On this day, Web3 enters a Brave New World.
