Established in 1932, British Broadcasting Corporation is a global media giant renowned for its popular news platform “BBC News.”The media giant, which started as a single radio service, has grown to a multi-platform with television, radio, and a general news website.
According to data submitted, BBC is seeking to trademark the “Doctor Who” logo and use it to launch various digital products. The media giant has showcased an interest in launching cinematographic and photographic films, recorded television and radio programs, motion pictures, and animated cartoons.
BBC also plans to launch non-fungible tokens used with blockchain technology and application software, including application software for mobile phones, wearable digital devices, and other portable digital devices.
Moreover, the media broadcasting platform plans to develop virtual reality software, hardware, and other apparatus. BBC also plans to launch printed publications, magazines, books, comics, clothing, footwear, and headgear authenticated by NFTs.
Other Media Platforms In The NFT Space
British Broadcasting Corporation “BBC” joins a rapidly expanding list of media platforms already invested in the NFT space. Last year, the crypto news platform “Cointelegraph” turned its publications into NFTs.
The Cointelegraph Historical collection allowed every article published by the largest crypto media outlet to become mintable into non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Just like any collectible, some news headlines have sentimental value. No wonder some old newspapers are selling for thousands of dollars on eBay.
