Google will allow advertisements related to crypto trusts from late January, the same month that spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) are expected to gain approval in the US.

“Beginning January 29th, 2024, advertisers offering Cryptocurrency Coin Trust targeting the United States may advertise those products and services,” Google said.

The tech giant requires that all advertisements comply with the local laws of their target areas. Advertisers should also be certified by Google to run these ads by securing appropriate licenses from local authorities.

It will not be the first time crypto-related ads appear on Google. The tech giant supports advertising for some crypto offerings like NFT games, hardware wallets, and software wallets.

Crypto Market Anticipates Spot Bitcoin ETF Approvals in January

Google’s policy update comes less than a month before the potential approval date for spot Bitcoin ETFs in the US.

Bloomberg ETF analysts predicted that approvals will come by Jan. 10.

A Reuters report on Dec. 7 said the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) was holding talks with asset managers to discuss the technical details of US exchanges listing the shares of spot Bitcoin ETFs.
