Bitcoin enthusiasts have long begged for the revelation of the cryptocurrency creator’s real identity, and these wishes may be granted soon.

Most of the crypto community is not moved by this possible revelation because there is no certainty that whoever is revealed as Satoshi Nakamoto is the actual creator of Bitcoin.

Satoshi Nakamoto Renaissance Holdings announced that the uncovering of the creator’s identity would be done in three phases between the 18th and 20th of August.

The three days reveal is supposed to be part of Bitcoin’s transformation rebirth as the company sets to rebuild perception of the leading cryptocurrency.

On Tuesday when the revelation peaks, Satoshi is expected to unveil a new vision for Bitcoin called Tabula Rasa which is supposed to be the clean slate on which Bitcoin will be rebirthed.

It is also expected that the revelation of Satoshi’s identity will be accompanied by an explanation of why he/she hasn’t touched the $10 billion worth of Bitcoin in their holdings.

Doubt in the crypto community

Members of the crypto community have expressed different sentiments about the announcement of Satoshi’s identity reveal. Few are keen to find out who the Bitcoin creator really is but most think that the announcement is just a PR stunt to attract the attention of traders.

The crypto community is generally skeptical and convincing them is going to take a lot more than the appearance of an individual claiming to be Satoshi. People could come out and claim to be Satoshi in a bid to increase their Bitcoin profit.

Satoshi’s company has taken note of these concerns and they have said that they will provide proof to show that it is indeed the real Satoshi.

Some prominent members of the crypto community have come out to express that nothing short of a certain level of proof will be enough to convince them.

Charlie Lee, the creator of Litecoin, says that the only acceptable proof is a signed Genesis key and anything besides that would not be satisfactory enough.

Lee went on to point out that there have been other people who have claimed to be Satoshi and hence, there needs to be irrefutable proof to substantiate the claims.

Others have come out and outrightly called the whole possible announcement a scam which is meant to draw traders to this rebirthed Bitcoin.

Crypto community’s guard against scams

The crypto industry has been plagued by scams and fraudulent activity, and there is always suspicion whenever a grand announcement like this is made. There is a high likelihood that no matter what kind of proof is provided, the crypto community will not buy the provided identity.

Traders and investors in cryptocurrency have lost a lot of money to scams and this has led the crypto community to maintain a high guard. If Satoshi does indeed plan on coming out of the shadows, it will take a lot of convincing for people to believe that what they have seen is the truth.
