Borussia Dortmund, or BVB, stands as a German-based top-class soccer club, and has recently entered a multi-year partnership with none other than Bybit, a crypto trading platform.

A New Sponsorship Agreement

Beyond mutual brand outreach, the details of this new partnership has more or less been scarce, at least for now. Ben Zhou stands as the CEO of Bybit, and gave a statement about the matter at large. He explained that BVB is an extremely popular soccer team, claiming that its fanbase is the seventh-largest in the entire world.

Zhou explained that this partnership allows Bybit the opportunity to increase its global branding and reach. This is due to how Bybit’s slogans and logos will be presented on BVB’s websites, social media platforms, as well as within its matches

Many Crypto-Based Innovations

Bybit will be given the first whirl of its slogan and logo outreach thanks to an upcoming high-profile match. In this match, BVB will take on Bayern Munich as the two clubs battle it out for the Bundesliga’s first place. It should be noted that Bayern Munich has already made its own ventures within the blockchain space, hosting blockchain-based merchandise to help increase fan engagement.

It’s becoming the new norm to have successful international soccer clubs venture within the crypto space. Typically, this comes by way of offering a framework of blockchain-based fantasy soccer, a fan token offering, or alternatively tokenized digital collectibles.

Institutional Investors Will Increase Their Crypto Holdings Dramatically: New Survey

Zhou highlighted that his company hopes to share news of a BVB fan token within the near future, but stated that specific details are yet to be divulged. The only thing Zhou could comment about the matter, is regarding the unsuccessful attempt that was done by way of BVB and Liquiditeam, which was announced in August. According to Zhou, Bybit is planning to pull it off.

Crypto And Sports Coming Together

Regardless of how this new partnership between BVB and Bybit ends up, non-fungible tokens, which can be used to create gaming perks of digital collectibles for various global sports fans, have already proven itself competitive. This stands as one of the many new innovations made within the blockchain space throughout the years.

The crypto and sports industries coming together for partnerships are quickly becoming a new standard practice. Clubs spread across Japan, Italy, France, Russia, the UK, and Spain have all taken part, making sponsorship deals or business partnerships with various blockchain firms, be it for tokens or just brand awareness.
