The XRP price soared 26% in the last week and 5% in the past 24 hours to trade at $3.08 as of 1:16 a.m. EST, with a 33% rise in trading volume to $8.4 billion.

That clarity may be coming soon. On Wednesday, the US House of Representatives moved forward with the long-awaited crypto GENIUS Act, a bipartisan bill aimed at fostering innovation and regulating digital assets.
The bill establishes a federal preemptive framework for the approval and recognition of compliant crypto tokens, clarifies tax treatment, and aims to limit federal overreach by agencies such as the SEC.
If the Crypto GENIUS Act is successfully passed in both the House and Senate, a significant obstacle to using XRP and other altcoins will likely be lifted relatively quickly.

XRP Price Breaks Out, Poised To Reach This Resistance
On the 3-day chart, the XRP price action has decisively broken out of a falling wedge pattern, which typically indicates a bullish reversal.
After weeks of tightening Ripple token price action between lower highs and lower lows, the breakout above the wedge resistance has sent XRP soaring past the $2.70 Fibonacci level (0.236 Fib).
The breakout is now accompanied by a strong bullish impulse, with the XRP price currently sitting above $3.08, as GeckoTerminal data shows.
The 50 Simple Moving Average (SMA) is sloping upward and sits at $2.28, well above the 200 SMA at $1.28, confirming a golden cross and signaling a strong bullish bias.
Meanwhile, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) is at 74.6, indicating overbought conditions, which could lead to short-term pullbacks or sideways movement before another leg up.
The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) has crossed bullishly, with the histogram turning positive, supporting upward momentum.
If the breakout holds, XRP could aim for the previous high near $3.40 as the next major resistance, a 9.89% surge from the current position.
On the flipside, if the bears take charge of the asset, as a result of the RSI being overbought, the XRP price may plunge back to the 0.382 Fib level at $2.29.
