The Sandbox, an Ethereum-based metaverse game that lets crypto users buy virtual land and customizes it with playable games and experiences, has teamed up with the famous video gaming publisher Ubisoft to launch a new metaverse project.
The Sandbox Joins Ubisoft To Launch A Metaverse Project
In a November 20 blog post, the Ethereum-based metaverse game confirmed partnering with the video gaming publisher Ubisoft to launch a new metaverse project. The Sandbox and Ubisoft metaverse project is anticipated to revive the metaverse sector, which has faded in recent months.

Launched in 2021, the Sandbox is a virtual metaverse world where players can build, own, and monetize their gaming experiences on the Ethereum blockchain network using the platform’s utility token, SAND. The Sandbox metaverse lets users own a piece of the world in the form of a non-fungible token, and they can use those digital LAND parcels to develop custom games and locations and even monetize them.
On the other hand, Ubisoft Entertainment is a French-based video game publisher headquartered in Saint-Mandé with development studios worldwide. Its video game franchises include the Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, For Honor, Just Dance, Prince of Persia, Rabbids, Rayman, Tom Clancy’s, and Watch Dogs.
Under the new integration, the Sandbox and Ubisoft have joined their tech capabilities to launch a new non-fungible token-based project for their fans and customers. The newly launched NFT project is aimed to celebrate the launch of Captain Laserhawk Blood Dragon on Netflix.
Captain Laserhawk Blood Dragon Show Explained
Captain Laserhawk Blood Dragon is an anime-themed video show that went live on Netflix last month. The new action show imagines we are in the year 1992. At this time, the country formerly known as the USA is now called Eden, a technocracy ruled by propaganda and corruption.
The super-soldier Dolph Laserhawk has just been betrayed by the love of his life, his boyfriend Alex Taylor, and locked up in Eden’s off-the-grid maximum security prison, Supermaxx. Dolph is forced to lead a team of rebel outcasts on risky undercover missions under the order of the prison’s shadowy Warden.
To celebrate this show on Netflix, The Sandbox and Ubisoft have dropped a new non-fungible token collection, enabling crypto users and gamers to enter the metaverse as Eden citizens using their exclusive avatar collection. The NFT minting is live, with only 3,000 spots available.
It’s worth noting that it’s not the first time for the Sandbox and Ubisoft to partner for a metaverse project. Earlier last year, the Sandbox partnered with Ubisoft to introduce Ubisoft game IP elements “Rabbids” to the metaverse. At the time, Ubisoft acquired its ESTATE with interactive experiences.
BWAAAH!! 😲 @RabbidsOfficial Invade #TheSandbox!
We are delighted to bring this new partnership with @Ubisoft, allowing anyone to create their own experiences with the Rabbids franchise in the Open #Metaverse!
