The Kamala Horris Price Soars 16% As Polymarket Election Odds Flip In Favor Of The Vice President And Trump Agrees To September Debate

The Kamala Horris price surged over 16% to trade at $0.01439 as of 9:10 a.m. EST as Polymarket Election odds flip in favor of the US Vice President and Republican rival Donald Trump agrees to a September debate.

Bets in favor of Kamala Harris winning the 2024 Election soared to 49% to overtake Trump bets by 1%, according to an Aug. 9 X post by Polymarket.

Trump And Harris Agree To Televised Debate

Former US President Trump and Harris will face off for the first time in a televised debate on Sep. 10, according to ABC News. Harris seems up for the challenge, and told reporters in Michigan on Thursday that she is “looking forward to debating Donald Trump.”

More than 51 million people tuned in to watch the first presidential debate between current US President Joe Biden and Trump in June. However, Biden’s somewhat lackluster performance at the event marked the beginning of the end of his campaign. Biden went on to step down from the 2024 race and fully endorse Harris.

Since then, Harris has taken the lead in the polls. An Aug. 8 Ipsos poll showed that Harris was ahead of Trump by 42% to 37%. This follows a July poll that showed she was up 37% to 34% over the Republican nominee.

Trump-Themed Tokens Surge More Than The Kamala Horris Price

While Harris appears to be leading in the polls, Trump-themed cryptos are the top 24-hour performers in the political meme coin sector. After going ballistic and surging more than 143%, Pepe (TRUMP) printed the biggest gain throughout the past day of trading.

Others tokens including Maga People (PEOPLE), MAGA Pepe (MAPE) and DT Inu (DTI) were all in the top 5 performers list. During the past trading day, the total market capitalization for the political meme coin space surged over 8% as well following confirmation of the upcoming debate.
