The Worldcoin price surged to a new all-time high on February 19 after the number of users on its crypto wallet application, World App, surpassed one million.
WLD is among the top crypto gainers over the past week after soaring 190%. The token was trading at $7.35 at 05:44 EST with a market cap of almost $1 billion.
The WLD price rally comes after the project revealed the number of users on the World App Crypto Wallet passed the one million milestone. In November last year, it had only around 100,000 daily active users.

The Worldcoin project, co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, faced regulatory challenges last year after launching, drawing opposition from governments in Hong Kong, India, and Kenya due to privacy concerns.
OpenAI Advancements Fuelling WLD Gains
WLD and other AI tokens tend to react to developments around OpenAI. Last week, OpenAI launched Sora, a new AI tool that translates text into video. The tool has taken the internet by storm due to its ability to create video clips and scenes from text.

Earlier this month, Altman revealed plans to raise $7 trillion for semiconductor chip development, which also triggered WLD gains.
It is not the first time WLD is reacting to developments around OpenAI. Last year, the token plunged amid leadership wrangles at the artificial intelligence company.
