Litecoin Price Prediction: LTC Surges 13% After The CFTC Says It’s A Commodity And This World-First AR/VR Blasts Past $3M

The Litecoin price surged 13% in the past 24 hours to trade at $109 as of 6:55 p.m. EST on a 148% leap in trading volume to $1.95 billion.

This leap made Litecoin the top gainer among the top 100 performing cryptos after the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) said the token is a commodity.

The CFTC made the remark in a a lawsuit against crypto exchange KuCoin, a comment that is positive for the token because it suggests it is outside the regulatory reach of the the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which has waged a war against cryptocurrencies.

The Litecoin price indicates a gradual uptrend breaking out of a consolidation channel. This allowed the bulls to bounce back from losses around the $70 support level, pushing the price to $105 on March 11. 

However, the momentum faced rejection at this point, leading to a downward trend that saw the bulls retreat to the $77 support level. Fortunately, this support zone has proven resilient, empowering the bulls to regain charge and drive the price up. As a result, the price has exceeded the resistance level of $105 and currently ranges between $105 and $109.

The price indicators are also bullish, with the Relative Strength Index(RSI), surging from 43 below the 50 midline level to 69. Increased momentum should push it into the overbought level of 70.

The bulls have also pushed the price above the 50-day and 200-day simple moving averages (SMAs). The moving average cross at $70 further affirms the general bullish momentum.

Litecoin Price Bulls Eye $130 High

There is potential for the price to continue the bullish momentum, presenting an opportunity for bullish investors with a potential 58% increase to $130 from its current price.

Conversely, bears may intervene, initiating a  bearish sentiment and applying downward pressure towards the $94 support zone. In this case, investors with a bearish outlook on LTC may seek to profit from potential declines.
