Len Sassaman, Adam Back, and Nick Szabo are favorites on Polymarket to be revealed as enigmatic Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto in an HBO documentary tonight.
The HBO documentary, “Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery,” will air tonight at 9:00 p.m. ET. Cullen Hoback, the investigative filmmaker behind the documentary, teased that Nakamoto’s true identity may finally be revealed in documentary.
Slim Odds That Elon Musk Or Craig Wright Might Be Satoshi Nakamoto
A market titled, “Who will HBO doc identify as Satoshi” has been created on Polymarket in the build up to the upcoming film. As of 2:40 a.m. EST, more than $13 million has been wagered on the decentralized platform.
Sassaman is currently the favorite, with the odds of him being revealed as Bitcoin’s elusive creator standing at 15%. Back is in second place with more than 12% of the votes, while Szabo’s odds stand at 10%.
There is also speculation that tech billionaire Elon Musk is the creator of Bitcoin. However, his odds stand at less than 1%. Despite the small chance, more than $925K has been wagered on Musk.
Alongside Musk is Craig Wright. For several years, Wright had claimed to be the individual behind Bitcoin and initiated a series of legal cases against developers and firms who used Bitcoin’s technology, claiming copyright infringement.
But a UK court found that he was not the creator, and Wright was required to publicly state that he is not Satoshi Nakamoto.

With his lead on Polymarket, several tokens linked to the late Sassaman have been created, all of which plunged in the last 24 hours.

An old tweet from Sassaman’s wife that she says she doesn’t think her husband is Satoshi Nakamoto has resurfaced online, casting doubt on his involvement in Bitcoin’s creation.
She also said that she was never interviewed for the upcoming documentary. Despite this, Sassaman remains the favorite.
