In an October 14 blog post, WatcherGuru, a renowned crypto news media platform, confirmed that the non-fungible token and crypto wallet MetaMask has been removed from the Apple App Store. The shocking development came into the spotlight earlier today.

Launched in 2016, MetaMask is a software crypto wallet used to interact with the Ethereum blockchain. It allows users to access their Ethereum wallet through a browser extension or mobile app, which can then be used to interact with decentralized applications.
MetaMask is the most popular blockchain wallet today, with monthly active users surpassing 30 million, making it the world’s most widely used non-custodial crypto wallet. The MetaMask browser extension provides a vital utility for crypto gamers, developers, and newcomers to the blockchain space.
The MetaMask application is available for both desktop and mobile platforms. The downloading process is primarily the same on all supported browsers. The extension allows you to interact with distributed applications in browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and Brave.
In a developing story, the well-known crypto and NFT wallet MetaMask has seen its mobile application removed from the Apple App Store. At the time of publishing, Apple has not issued any reasons for removing the popular application from its app store.
What Is Happening?
MetaMask is not the first crypto and NFT wallet to be suspended from the Apple App Store. Trust Wallet was inexplicably removed from the Apple App Store in September last year, only to be reinstated a month later. However, for MetaMask, it’s still unknown whether the move was a deliberate removal or a technical error.
In 2022, the crypto exchange Coinbase had trouble releasing a wallet application on the company’s app store. At the time, Apple was imposing a 30% in-app purchase tax, a move that Coinbase rebelled against in a big way. In December 2019, the MetaMask Android client was suspended by the Google Play App Store before being reinstated a few days later.
In the last week, the MetaMask Android client was suspended by the Google Play App Store @googleplaydev. They cited their policy that bans mining on mobile, which we don't. Appeal rejected. #ProtectWeb3.https://t.co/rfP4EbOAqv!?zippy_activeEl=cryptocurrencies%23cryptocurrencies
