The speculation has been prompted by a blistering rally today from the original sloth-themed meme coin Slerf ($SLERF).

The popular coin Slerf, which is the 30th-largest meme coin (with a market cap of close to $150 million), rose more than 30% in the early hours today after listing on major crypto exchange OKX. Despite a minor pullback, its current price of around $0.29 still represents a 30% advance on its price this time yesterday. 

The Slerf effect represents a probable incoming shift towards diversity in the meme coin sector. Today, the Big Five doge-themed projects Dogecoin ($DOGE), Shiba Inu ($SHIB), DogWifHat ($WIF), Bonk ($BONK) and ($FLOKI) are all posting overnight losses of between 5-to-10%. 

But the recent whispers about Slothana following Slerf are founded on some intriguing recent activities from the project, indicating big news could be around the corner. 

What’s Been Going On With Solana’s Laziest $SLOTH?

Slothana raised an eye-watering $15 million during the presale back in spring. The meme coin is based on a lazy sloth who lives and works on the Solana blockchain. With his permanently hazed red eyes, he gives the impression that he really doesn’t want to work. Oh no, he’s eyeing something bigger: he wants to go from 420 to $420 million.

The token was popular for its frequent nods to counterculture, and it arrived at a timely moment: the presale was ongoing throughout this year’s April 20th, the day potheads commemorate their favorite hobby across the globe.

Recently, Slothana has been teasing the growing Sloth community on Reddit and Twitter, leaving some intriguing hints and clues. One recent tweet included a baked sloth in a t-shirt reading “I’m not lazy, I’m energy efficient”, posted with the caption “The clues are right in front of you.” 

The enigma has continued to grow and fascinate the community with its use of religious imagery combined with references to both strawberries and broccoli. Theories are developing as to what the big mystery could be, and subsequently, what the future holds for the token.
