Mercedes Benz is leveling up its innovative moves using artificial intelligence in integrating voice control of its vehicle.
The famous luxury car manufacturer is powering the voice control with ChatGPT and will run a new trial for over 900,000 brands of its vehicles.
On June 16, Mercedes Benz released a statement regarding its ChatGPT-powered voice control vehicle. The innovation is currently running as a beta program for Mercedes-Benz car users in the United States.
Mercedes Benz Leverages Chatgpt-Powered Innovation
Mercedes Benz is one of the most popular manufacturers of vehicles in the world. The brand was founded in 1925 through the merger between Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG) and Benz & Cie.
It is headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, with about 93 different global locations, and has the trademark logo of a three-pointed star. According to a recent announcement, Mercedes Benz said the addition would be to the MBUX Voice Assistant.
Interested drivers can access the voice control once they sign up by saying, ‘Hey Mercedes, I want to join the beta program.’ An alternative approach is for users to sign up via the Mercedes Benz manufacturers’ ‘me’ application.
In its explanation, the famous car brand noted that ChapGPT is serving as a complement to its existing voice control feature. The AI further expands the feature’s underlying capacities for users.
The brand disclosed that the ChapGPT inclusion enables users to ask the Voice Assistant questions that are both related or not related to the driving experience. Notably, the chatbot provides detailed and understandable responses for the users.
The car manufacturer said: “While most voice assistants are limited to predefined tasks and responses, ChatGPT leverages a large language model to greatly improve natural language understanding and expand the topics to which it can respond.”
Additionally, the manufacturer will store all voice command data gathered by the voice assistant in the Mercedes-Benz Intelligence Cloud system.
The brand noted that all data will be anonymized and analyzed. Also, the Germany-based car manufacturer disclosed that its voice integration beta program would last for three months.
After the time frame, the firm would reassess all the processes and conclude whether or not it will further develop the ChapGPT-powered voice control feature for its vehicles.
Mercedes Benz And its Involvement In Blockchain Projects
Mercedes Benz has indicated its interest in blockchain technology over the years. The car manufacturer has some connections with blockchain-based projects.
The car manufacturer collaborated with some non-fungible token (NFT) artists in January 2022. The partnership involved the brand’s celebration of its G-Class Series model.
The artists are expected to create different G-Class-motivated works in diverse areas like fashion, music, architecture, graphic design, and real estate.
Also, Mercedes initiated the use of Ocean Protocol’s blockchain as a means of the collection of users’ data. It launched its crypto asset in 2018 to incentivize eco-friendly driving.
