Rise of TV and Film Themed Meme Coins – The Mask, C3PO, Mr Hankey, Homer Simpson, Heisenberg

There has been an influx of TV and Film themed meme coins this week.

Tokens like The Mask, C3PO, Homer Simpson, and Heisenberg have appeared and then shot up the price charts.

However, most of these coins have either been uncovered as a scam or as dead on arrival.

An alternative investment called Mr Hankey, a memecoin inspired by South Park, is better. Available as a presale, this token embraces the toilet humor of the beloved series to the tee.

TV & Film Themed Tokens That Showed Up and Blew Up Fast

The recent bouquet of tokens that have made waves on DEXtools totally embraces their movie and TV inspirations. They have used that cultural relevance, which goes beyond the realms of social media, to gain traction in the market.

C3PO

The lovable bumbling robot who was tasked with taking the Death Star plans to the rebel army in Star Wars has always been a fan favorite. A good companion to R2D2, this character, with its quirks, would translate as a good memecoin in the blockchain space.

Perhaps that was indeed the idea behind releasing it. However, upon close inspection,  DEXTools realized that it was a scam. All that we could see for this token was one large green candle.

The DEXT score of this token only stands at 57 out of 99. The trust score, however, still maintained a healthy 74.6%.

Being a single candle readily shows that it was a pump-and-dump scheme that was gone as quickly as it arrived. Transactions show sell-offs in quick succession.

The Mask 

“Ssssmokin” – is a quote that all of us know as we watched Stanley Ipkiss put on the Mask that unleashes his inner toon powers to save the way. Does the memecoin have what it takes to be a hero – can it make gains for investors?

And from what the trend show, it does have something going for it. This token went up by more than 4000% as soon as it arrived. It is scoring full in terms of DEXTscore. The trust score, however, is abysmal at just 53%.

Also, the DEXtools audit has found that the maker of this token has renounced the contract, which means the token has now been unleashed to the community. It means that no one can mint new tokens, blacklist wallets, or engage with any other dangerous contract functions.

Homer Simpson

Another token that has continued to blow up since it arrived yesterday is Homer Simpson. Inspired by the main character of the Simpsons, the current price chart shows the token moving up energetically, a far cry from the lethargic character that Homer himself is.

Homer has gone up by 33,000% since it arrived. However, that is likely because of Homer’s blacklist function. That indicates that some sellers are locked out, and those who are buying are simply pumping its price.

It was one of the biggest gainers on DEXTools recently.

Heisenberg

Breaking Bad’s Heisenberg is cooking profits, not meth, on DEXTools. The token has been up by 19,000%. But its rise has been limited to a single candle.

That is because, like Homer Simpson, this themed meme coin has also added a blacklist function, which is likely fueling its rise.

Despite having a blacklist function, Heisenberg has a trust score of 96%. We believe that it is solely because of the admiration for the character. It also became the top gainer of the day on DEXTools.

Since the description is so kind to describe Heisenberg’s dialogue, “I am not in danger, I am the danger”, we recommend taking these words at their face value and consider this token as a scam.

Agent Smith 

The Matrix’s Agent Smith is also spreading its influence on DEXTools, ranking in third place. It has no blacklist function, and there has only been a single candle so far.

Its contract has been verified, and its DEXT score is high. But while there is no blacklist functionality in its smart contract, there is limited information available. The trust score, however, is high at 83%.

Inspired by South Park, Mr Hankey is a Better Alternative

The adult, relatable and grimy humor of South Park has been perfectly encapsulated in the upcoming crypto presale, Mr Hankey.

This themed meme coin has embraced its status as a shitcoin. Also, the token’s honesty has allowed it to gather more than 4.5k followers on Twitter within 24 hours.
