The BNB price soared 5% in the last week and is up a fraction of a percentage in the past 24 hours, trading at $653.47 as of 4:46 a.m. EST, with a 51% increase in trading volume to $523 million.
This comes as BNB Chain officially launched the Maxwell Hard Fork upgrade. The upgrade is designed to enhance the efficiency and speed of the blockchain, making it more responsive and user-friendly.
The Maxwell Hard Fork arrives amid a series of upgrades designed to enhance the network’s performance and scalability, and is set to reduce the block time of the BNB Smart Chain (BSC) from 1.5 seconds to 0.75 seconds.

The BNB price chart on the 3-day time frame shows that the asset has been trading within an ascending triangle, a bullish continuation pattern formed over several months.
The BNB Coin price has been consolidating under strong horizontal resistance around the $691 level while forming higher lows, which is indicative of bullish accumulation, as GeckoTerminal data shows.
