Each NFT collection is accompanied by AI soundscapes based on a precise network of sensors monitoring atmospheric dynamics and ground conditions. Biome Lumina NFTs set the stage for more things to come. In simpler terms, the NFT collection is an invitation to enter an ongoing collaboration between nature, code and collector, exemplifying a world in which technology is not a disconnection from the earth but a return to it.
The Dataland – Biome Lumina NFT collection allows all NFT holders to engage in dynamic conversations with the artwork through a generative AI interface trained on environmental knowledge and datasets. Biome Lumina is the first NFT collection powered by the Large Nature Model, a generative AI system trained on 2.4 million ethically collected images of flora, fauna, and fungi, along with rainforest sound recordings, pigment analyses, and biosensor signals.
Refik Anadol’s Crypto & NFT Journey
The Turkish media artist, Refik Anadol, entered the non-fungible token market sometime in 2021, probably attracted by the historic market bull run at the time. At the time, Anadol launched a digital solo exhibition, Unsupervised: Moma. The solo NFT exhibition featured three days of auctions, featuring NFT artworks by Anadol, which had been trained on a unique AI model with the metadata of The Museum of Modern Art’s collection.
Refik Anadol had emerged from the same digital art communities that nurtured the careers of NFT artists like ‘Beeple ‘; however, the Turkish-American artist had three fine art degrees and a thriving studio practice with a dozen employees by the time he started selling NFTs. Since then, Anadol has been using artificial intelligence (AI) to create intricate and immersive artwork. His work explores the intersection between architecture, graphic design and computer science.
