Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, known for his intriguing remarks and actions regarding cryptocurrencies, warned about Dogecoin and crypto during Tuesday’s The Wall Street Journal’s CEO Council Summit.

Musk’s Warning on Dogecoin and Crypto

While cautioning investors not to put all their eggs in one basket with the meme cryptocurrency, Musk openly expressed his fondness for Dogecoin, highlighting its unique appeal because of its humor and canine theme. He reaffirmed Dogecoin as his personal favorite among digital currencies.

“I’m not advising anyone to buy crypto or bet the farm on Dogecoin or anything like that,”

Musk’s involvement with Dogecoin has significantly increased its prominence. As the self-proclaimed “Dogefather,” he played a crucial role in boosting the cryptocurrency’s value through his tweets endorsing the coin, which led to a sharp rise in early 2021. Despite acknowledging the volatility and risks associated with such investments, Musk finds the coin charming because of its connection to humor and dogs.

Many people in the Dogecoin community expected a substantial increase in the coin’s value after Musk bought the social media giant. They hoped they would integrate Dogecoin as a payment method on the platform. However, their expectations were unmet as Dogecoin was not integrated, disappointing some supporters.

In April, Musk briefly changed Twitter’s iconic bird logo to the Doge meme, causing excitement and an 8% increase in Dogecoin’s value. But the decision was temporary, and they quickly restored the bird logo. Linda Yaccarino, the former chair of Global Advertising and Partnerships at NBCUniversal, has been appointed Twitter’s new CEO by Elon Musk. This appointment decreases the chances of Twitter integrating Dogecoin. However, Musk’s influence on Dogecoin remains substantial despite the lack of integration.

Dogecoin is Still My Favorite – Elon Musk

Elon Musk has expressed that Dogecoin (DOGE) is his preferred cryptocurrency because of its humor and dog association. However, he has also cautioned individuals against risking too much on it by stating, “Don’t bet the farm.” Musk’s tweets and actions have significantly impacted the price of Dogecoin and other meme coins. Nevertheless, he advised people to not make substantial bets on Dogecoin during the Wall Street Journal’s CEO Council Summit.

While many projects, especially meme coins, rely on hype, they may fade. Musk’s influence on Dogecoin has often led to dramatic price fluctuations. However, Dogecoin is moving in sync with the broader crypto market this time. When Musk temporarily replaced the Twitter logo with the Dogecoin logo, the price surged by over 20%. Yet, when Musk reverted to the original logo a week later, Dogecoin’s price dropped by nearly 10%.

At the time of writing, the price of Dogecoin is trading at $0.071, experiencing a 3.7% decline in the last 24 hours. These developments remind investors to approach the crypto market cautiously and be aware of the potential volatility and risks involved.
