Crypto.com has announced that its plugin for Ecwid, an e-commerce platform “powering over 1 million online stores” is now live. This means that merchants on the platform can now accept Bitcoin for payments, and those who opt-in within this first six months will see their settlement fees waived, according to a blog post from Crypto.com.

The extension supports other cryptocurrencies as well, such as Litecoin, Ethereum, Ripple, and the platform’s own CRO. Of course, those merchants who want their assets converted to USD or EUR can do so as well.

For those worried about security, this platform protects customer data from being seen by others, while also ensuring merchants can accept cryptocurrency without issue.

It’s worth noting that customers on the platform who buy with CRO will see up to 10% cashback on their purchases.

Recently, the hardware wallet, Ledger, had teamed up with Crypto.com to allow users to pay while keeping assets stored within that wallet, as InsideBitcoins has previously reported on.

An excerpt from the article reads:

“One of the most essential use cases for blockchain technology is, as you would guess, payments. With all this talk of direct payments, it’s easy to overestimate the number of direct payments made in comparison to media coverage thereof.”
