Chiru Labs And IPX Integration
Established in 2021, Chiru Labs is a digital asset incubation studio with a market capitalization of around $177 million. Led by an Asian-American team and former Overwatch Art Director Arnold Tsang, the company is renowned for building decentralized brands at the intersection of anime art, blockchain technology, and streetwear.
The tech startup has gained popularity for creating Azuki, a web3 anime brand that has become one of the most popular NFT collections. Azuki is an NFT collection with a limited edition of 10,000 anime-themed NFT collections hosted on the Ethereum network. In 2022, Chiru Labs created Beanz, another Ethereum-based NFT collection with a limited set of 19,500 NFT collections.
In April last year, Chiru Labs formed a strategic partnership with the digital IP platform company IPX (formerly known as LINE FRIENDS). Under this partnership, IPX aimed to expand into Chiru Labs’ NFT-related IP business and showcase a variety of IP collaborations based on Web3.
Furthermore, IPX planned to expand its global IP presence by leveraging its creative capabilities and IP business expertise to develop products and licensing of Chiru Labs’ NFT IP BEANZ. While commenting about the partnership at the time, Zagabond, the founder and CEO of Chiru Labs, remarked:
“We are excited to collaborate with IPX, which is a global leader in building innovative character IP brands beloved by millions of fans across the globe. IP is evolving, and we see the web3 community as an integral part of this next wave. We can’t wait to bring the world of our IPs together.”
