The Bitcoin price rose 1% in the last 24 hours to trade at $98,133 as of 12:32 a.m. EST on trading volume that surged 25% to $35 billion.

The uptick in the BTC price comes as Destin Hall, a North Carolina House speaker, has introduced the ‘NC Digital Assets Investments Act,’ which aims to diversify the state’s investments by allowing the treasurer to include digital assets in its portfolio. Qualifying crypto assets must have a minimum market capitalization of $750 billion over the last 12 months as well as their own ETPs (exchange-traded products).

So far, Bitcoin is the only crypto that meets the bill’s requirements.

Bitcoin Price Aims For A Bullish Rally

The BTC price daily chart showcases a strong bullish trend that started in late October, followed by a consolidation phase around the $94,400–$108,000 range.

This pattern suggests that the market is in a temporary accumulation zone, waiting for the next directional move.

The Bitcoin price is currently consolidating around the 50-day Simple Moving Average (SMA), suggesting indecision, according to GeckoTerminal data. However, BTC remains well above the 200-day SMA, reinforcing the overall bullish trend.

The RSI is slightly below the neutral 50 level at 47, indicating that momentum has weakened but is not in oversold territory. A move above 50 could signal renewed buying pressure.

Given the ongoing consolidation, two potential scenarios could unfold. A strong move above $110,000 might trigger another rally toward $120,000, continuing the previous uptrend.

However, if the price of Bitcoin falls below the $90,000–$95,000 support zone, it could retrace towards the 200-day SMA ($79,000) before finding new support.

As the BTC price surges, investors are buying a new alternative, BTC Bull (BTCBULL), which Alessandro De Crypto, a prominent YouTuber with over 14.4k subscribers, says could see massive gains.
