An Australian project management firm, Facilitate Corp, has initiated legal action against Twitter in a U.S. court.

The firm seeks cumulative payments of around AUS$1 million ($665,000) over alleged non-payment of bills for work conducted in four countries.

Facilitate filed the lawsuit on June 29 in California, claiming a breach of contract over Twitter’s failure to pay its invoices.

The firm also claims that between 2022 and early 2023, it carried out various projects for Twitter such as installing sensors in the company’s offices in London and Dublin, completing an office fit-out in Singapore, and carrying out an office clearance in Sydney.

Facilitate claims its is owed around thousands of dollars for these works as well.

It wants compensatory damages, legal costs, and interest at the maximum legal rate, with the exact amount to be determined at trial.

Twitter’s History Of Non-Payment Claims

The Australian firm joins a growing list of entities pursuing legal action against Twitter for non-payment of invoices.

A former public relations firm filed a lawsuit in a New York court, claiming unpaid bills, and a U.S.-based advisory firm Innisfree M&A has sued earlier this year for around $1.9 million for unpaid services related to Musk’s acquisition.

Britain’s Crown Estate, an independent commercial business that manages the property portfolio of the monarchy, began court proceedings over alleged unpaid rent on Twitter’s London headquarters in January.
