OpenSea To Add Ronin NFT Support
In a March 12 blog post, OpenSea teased the support for the Ronin blockchain network. The NFT marketplace has not announced when the crypto users will start trading the Ronin-based non-fungible token collections on its platform. The OpenSea NFT marketplace team led by dfinzer.eth, the chief executive officer of OpenSea, hopes that the upcoming network integration will boost its growth and interactions in the future.

Launched in 2017, OpenSea is a non-fungible token marketplace that allows users to buy, sell, create, and trade NFTs. This platform has rapidly grown to become one of the largest NFT trading platforms, with more than three million active users and a daily trading volume of about $4.5 million as of January 2024. OpenSea is also a non-custodial platform, allowing users full control and access to their cryptocurrency wallets.
On the other hand, Ronin is an Ethereum Virtual Machine blockchain network created by Sky Mavis, the team behind the popular Axie Infinity. The network is designed to power NFTs and blockchain-based gaming. It’s optimized for fast, low-cost transactions and scalability. Ronin Network was created in 2021 in response to the challenges of Ethereum’s Layer 1 scalability and high transaction fees at the time.

The Ronin blockchain network will be integrated into OS2, the highly anticipated upgraded NFT market platform, which is currently in Beta version testing. Upon full launch, the upgraded marketplace will allow crypto users to trade NFTs and tokens all together on one platform. The OS2 NFT marketplace will also feature 14 new blockchain networks, including flow, Apechain, Soneum, and Berachain blockchain networks, with more networks on the way in the future.
OS2 open beta is now live:

The Ronin blockchain integration is part of OpenSea’s broader marketing strategy of making itself the go-to platform for all things NFTs. Since announcing the upcoming OS2 marketplace, Opensea has become the largest marketplace in the global NFT market. In the past two months, the NFT trading volume has surged by 45%, while NFT users have increased by 73.6%. During this time, the user count has increased by 73%.

NFT collections on the Ronin blockchain Network will gain access to OpenSea’s massive user base and increase the liquidity flowing into the Ronin ecosystem. Combined with the upcoming launch of high-quality PFP non-fungible token collections like Awaken Hunter NFT, Ronins on Ronin, and Capy Game agent, Ronin NFTs are set to gain major attention. Ronin gaming projects will also get exposure to a broader audience.
