Telegram clicker game Hamster Kombat is looking to surpass Uniswap’s $6.4 billion UNI airdrop with what its team claims to be the “largest airdrop in the history of crypto.”

Data from the market tracking platform CoinGecko shows that UNI’s airdrop, which took place in September 2020, still holds the title for the biggest token distribution event.

The token also holds a comfortable lead over the next biggest airdrop, which belongs to Apecoin (APE) at about $3.5 billion.

Hamster Kombat Breaks Records With Turbocharged User Base Growth

Overtaking UNI’s airdrop will be a monumental task. However, Hamster Kombat’s team may be up for the challenge given the game’s viral success. Within just 5 months, the Telegram mini game has rocketed past the 300 million players mark.

Hamster Kombat has also set a new record for the quickest time to reach the 100 million users milestone after achieving the feat in two months. Now, the game might be on track to set a new Guinness World Record.

The project’s social platforms have also boomed in the last few months. Not only did the game’s YouTube channel record better monthly growth than popular YouTuber Mr Beast, its X account has also grown to over 12.4 million followers even after the project’s team was criticized for its aggressive social pressure tactics.

OKX To Launch Premarket Futures Trading For HMSTR

OKX will be opening pre-market futures trading for Hamster Kombat’s HMSTR token on Aug. 1. Several other platforms including Gate.io, Bybit and Kucoin have also expressed interest in facilitating pre-market trading for the crypto.

This pre-market phase might continue longer than initially anticipated as well, since the team has delayed the highly-anticipated HMSTR token distribution event.

Originally planned for the end of this month, the airdrop target has recently been updated in the project’s roadmap and listed in the “Upcoming” section with no new date set yet.
