Three Arrows Capital (3AC) co-founder Su Zhu said the almost three months he spent in prison in Singapore was an ”enjoyable experience” and gave him the best sleep of his life.

“Obviously, no one wants to go to prison,” said the co-founder of the collapsed hedge fund in a Jan. 22 post on X and clips from a podcast featuring fellow 3AC co-founder Kyle Davies. ``But I think that it was a really enjoyable experience overall.”

Su Zhu Says Prison Let Him Take Part In “Ancient” Entertainment

Zhu said that the large amount of free time he had in prison allowed him to enjoy activities which, “in the ancient days, would still be considered entertainment.” He said he had “an insane amount of time to read” and that prison enables you to “do all the push ups you want.”

The experience gave him a “a really magical feeling” of kinship with his ancestors, telling him “this is how I was supposed to live,” he said.

The 3AC co-founder attributed the quality of his sleep to the lack of internet time, caffeine and alcohol, which he believes helped him fall asleep immediately. The lights are turned off at 9:30 pm every night until 5:30 am the next morning, he said.

Crypto X User Responds To Su Zhu’s Comments

Crypto X users responded with mixed feelings toward Zhu’s comments. The creator of Wildcat Protocol, Laurence Day, described Zhu as so “terminally online” that ”he had to go to literal prison to experience the same sense of ‘kinship with his ancestors’ that the rest of us get from just logging off and walking barefoot on a beach with a cool breeze.”

Zhu was arrested at Singapore’s Changi Airport on Sept. 29 last year, when he was trying to leave the country. This was after a local court sentenced him to four months in prison for failing to cooperate with an investigation into 3AC’s liquidation.
