The Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT collection is still attracting attention despite the ongoing recession in the market. While the floor price of this collection is at yearly lows, those who have bought the collections are deriving utility from them.

Eminem and Snoop Dogg seem to be settling the bad history between them through a new BAYC-themed song. The two artists own a BAYC NFT, and through this music video, they will be deriving utility from their collections.

Eminem posted a tweet on June 24 promoting a new song dubbed “From The D 2 The LBC.” This tweet depicted the graphics of this new song. The song’s video has been depicted in a comic book style, and it has two cartoon monkeys that depict the artists and their affiliation to BAYC.

Eminem shortly after posted another tweet promoting the video. In this video, Eminem and Snoop Dogg appear as animated ape characters. The song was produced by 1st Amendment and Young California. BAYC was also among the producers of the song.

The song’s refrain has the two artists applauding their hometowns of Detroit and Long Beach. The song lyrics read, “Put your doobies high if you reside in 213, let’s see them blunts raised / Whether you east side or west side of the 313, let’s see them guns blaze.”

The two artists perform their parts in the song while transitioning into Bored Ape avatars. A preview of the song was featured during the Ape Fest 2022. News of this song sent ApeCoin (APE) gaining by around 22%. However, the token is currently erasing these gains, dropping by around 7% during the past 24 hours. At the time of writing, APE was trading at 4.79.

Celebrities and NFTs

The BAYC collection has been very attractive to celebrities. Besides Snoop and Eminem, other artists also bought the BAYC collection, including Justin Bieber and Madonna. Eminem bought his BAYC on the OpenSea marketplace last year for $462,000.

On the other hand, Snoop Dogg has invested in crypto-related companies. In April, Snoop, alongside other artists such as Justice Bieber and actor Bruce Willis became investors in MoonPay, an on–and–off-ramp service. MoonPay has also partnered with Snoop’s Death Row records for an NFT marketplace.
