The information provided on Inside Bitcoins is for educational and informational purposes only and should not be considered financial, investment, or trading advice. Cryptocurrency markets are highly volatile, and investing in digital assets carries significant risk. No profits are guaranteed, and you may lose some or all of your investment. Always invest responsibly and only with funds you can afford to lose.

This page lists the largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation, with their current price, 24-hour and 7-day change and 24-hour trading volume. The figures come from our own data pipeline, which collects CoinGecko-derived market data, and refresh automatically several times a day.

Market capitalisation is the coin’s price multiplied by the number of coins in circulation, and it decides each coin’s rank. Stablecoins such as USDT and USDC are left out of the main table, because their price is designed to stay close to one dollar and their size says little about market direction. They have their own table further down.

Crypto sectors and baskets

Coins are often traded as themes. The baskets below group coins by sector: meme coins, AI tokens, real-world assets (RWA), decentralized physical infrastructure (DePIN) and gaming. Each row shows the combined market cap of the coins in the basket and how it has moved.

Stablecoin market caps

The ten largest stablecoins by market capitalisation. A stablecoin’s price should stay close to its peg, so the useful figures here are the supply in circulation and any move away from one dollar. Our guide what is a stablecoin? explains the different types and how they hold their value.

How to read this page

  • Price is the volume-weighted average price in US dollars across the exchanges that list the coin, not the price on any single exchange. The price you get when you trade can differ, especially for smaller coins.
  • 24h and 7d change compare the current price with the price 24 hours and 7 days earlier.
  • Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply. It measures the value of the coins in circulation, not money that has flowed in.
  • Volume is the dollar value traded in the last 24 hours. Low volume next to a high market cap can mean a coin is thinly traded and its price easier to move.
  • All-time high on each coin page is the highest price recorded, with the date it was set.

Our methodology

We rank coins by market capitalisation and refresh the data on a schedule rather than on each page view, so a table can be a few hours behind a fast-moving market. Stablecoins are shown only in the stablecoin table. Wrapped and bridged versions of the same asset can appear as separate entries, because they are separate tokens with their own supply. Figures describe the market. They are not a recommendation to buy or sell, and we do not publish price forecasts on these pages.

Coin price guides

For the coins readers ask about most, we keep an editorial page with live data and the background behind the price:

For market cycles, see bull market vs bear market and the Altcoin Season Index. DeFi protocols, ranked by value locked, are on our DeFi hub, and all our guides are collected on the crypto hub.

Frequently asked questions

How often are the prices on this page updated?

The tables refresh automatically several times a day from our data pipeline. Prices are not fetched on every page view, so in a fast market a figure can be a few hours old. Check an exchange for the price you can actually trade at.

Why are stablecoins not in the main table?

Stablecoins are designed to hold a fixed value, usually one US dollar, so their place in a market cap ranking says little about the market. Leaving them out keeps the main table about assets whose price moves. The largest stablecoins are listed in their own table on this page.

What is the difference between market cap and fully diluted valuation?

Market cap uses the circulating supply, the coins that exist and can be traded now. Fully diluted valuation multiplies the price by the total supply (or the maximum supply, depending on the data source), as if every token were already in circulation, including coins still locked or not yet released. A large gap between the two means many coins are still to be released.

Why does the price here differ from my exchange?

The price shown is an average across many exchanges. Each exchange has its own order book, fees and local demand, so its price can be slightly higher or lower, and the gap is usually wider for coins with low trading volume.

Where does the data come from?

Coin prices, market caps and volumes come from CoinGecko-derived market data collected by our own pipeline. DeFi figures such as total value locked come from DefiLlama. We store the data on our own servers and show it in these tables.
