Don’t invest unless prepared to lose all the money you invest. This is a high-risk investment, you shouldn’t expect to be protected if something goes wrong.

The parent company of the BitMEX exchange, HDR Global Trading Ltd, has announced a new grant program for developers in the cryptocurrency space. This money will go to Michael Ford, a Bitcoin Core developer, and he’ll be receiving $100,000.

According to a press release, the company announced the grant with this attached:

“Under this program, we hope to add to those grants we have previously made to relevant developers by providing annual Open Source Developer Grants to developers working on Bitcoin, NodeJS, Java or Kubernetes. In addition we may provide certain smaller grants, from time to time, related to the production of related educational materials, technical workshops or the transcribing or translation of relevant technical content.”

Over time, the group has offered over $650,000 in grants to the cryptocurrency space. Other grants are on their way, of course, as well. The platform noted it would be accepting applications on May 1st all the way to June 30 of this year. Then, it will offer money to those users in the period between July and September.

In other grant news, as InsideBitcoins has previously reported on, the crypto company of Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, Square Cash, provided a grant of $100,000 to the BTC Pay Foundation – an “open source crypto payment processing system.”
