The US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by billionaire Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk, plans a probe into the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as part of its mission to reduce government spending.<\/span><\/p>\n DOGE is expected to arrive at the SEC in the next few days, according to a Feb. 17 Politico <\/span>report<\/span><\/a> that cited two people briefed on the matter. “They are at the gates,” the sources reportedly said.<\/span><\/p>\n DOGE’s initiative to investigate the SEC comes as the department launched a newly created X account called DOGE_SEC. In a <\/span>post<\/span><\/a> yesterday, the organization asked for the public’s help in “finding and fixing waste, fraud and abuse” related to the <\/span>SEC<\/span><\/a>. Anyone with insights has been asked to DM the account.<\/span><\/p>\n Musk himself has battled with the financial regulator. Most recently, the SEC alleged that the billionaire underpaid Twitter stock investors by more than $150 million.
