Former US President <\/span>Donald Trump<\/span><\/a> has named Bitcoin-owning Ohio Senator JD Vance as his running mate, which means America will have its first crypto vice president if Trump regains the White House.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Senator was picked “after lengthy deliberation and thought,” according to a post on Trump’s Truth Social network.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a mandated <\/span>Annual Report<\/span><\/a> for the calendar year 2022 that was filed in October 2023, Vance disclosed that he owns between $100,001 and $250,000 worth of BTC.<\/span><\/p>\n

JD Vance Known To Be Pro-Crypto<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Senator is known to have a favorable stance towards digital assets, and is in the process of drafting a bill that will change how financial regulators police crypto in the US. <\/span><\/p>\n

A clip showing Vince calling the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chair <\/span>Gary Gensler<\/span><\/a> the “worst person” to be regulating the crypto industry has resurfaced online after his appointment. He made the comments in a speech at a private conference held by Y Combinator and Bloomberg on Feb. 28. <\/span><\/p>\n
