A new project, however, is planning to merge the digital assets with pornography.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">PornVisory, a new cryptocurrency, is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pornvisory.it\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">launching<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> with the goal of rewarding people with tokens whenever they watch porn.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Bringing Anonymity and Fueling Porn Visits<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The project is the brainchild of Veronica Noschese, a former marketing executive in the adult entertainment industry. Speaking with news outlet Cointelegraph, the founder explained that the crypto and porn industries are perfect for each other. People who often visit porn sites try to find ways to do so anonymously, and cryptocurrencies offer a great way to do that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She pointed out that crypto-assets can do more than just improve anonymity. There\u2019s also the aspect of payments and remittances, which is one of the essential parts of porn entirely.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cFor example, even the biggest name in the industry, Pornhub, saw its account blocked by PayPal. Also, you might not want to pay your Premium account to watch porn with the bank account you share with your wife.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Noschese explained that her platform draws inspiration from the Basic Attention Token. The asset is integrated with the Brave browser, and it compensates users who interact with ads. She added that users who interact with the platform would get paid with the tokens.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The platform is currently just Italian, but there will be an English version coming soon. The firm is also working on a video streaming platform and a third-party video website.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Noschese added that PornVisory wouldn\u2019t conduct an initial coin offering. Instead, they\u2019ll airdrop some of the tokens to users as a marketing tactic. She will be financing the tokens for now, but she has plans to get funds from investors as soon as the platform starts to gain traction.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Despite the introduction of this new platform, cryptocurrencies and porn have gotten a significant amount of traction. Like Noschese explained, people have taken advantage of the anonymity that digital assets provide and are now making crypto transactions to porn platform at an alarming rate.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>No More Credit Card Payments for Porn Sites<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The phenomenon is coming at a time when traditional remittances to porn sites are coming under scrutiny. PayPal made a splash in the industry late last year, when the company canceled all payments to PornHub without notice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Earlier this month, the BBC <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/world-52543508\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">reported<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> that a group of international campaign groups had written to about ten credit card companies, asking for the immediate suspension of payments to porn sites.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The letter included signatories from every continent, except Antarctica. In it, the signatories alleged that porn sites \u201ceroticize sexual violence, incest, and racism.\u201d This makes the sites a great tool got child abusers and sex traffickers to thrive.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">PornHub reacted immediately, claiming that it has implemented a system to eradicate illegal content and under-aged material.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Still, the fact that credit card companies are now being put on notice sets a dangerous precedent for the relationship between porn companies and credit card providers.
