BitPay CEO Stephen Pair signals progress in Bitcoin upgrade. BitPay wants extension blocks, but no hard forks. Bitcoin Core’s transaction malleability fix and scaling solution Segregated Witness (SegWit) was activated on Litecoin last week. Since then, Litecoin price massively increased at an exponential rate, due to rising interest from investors and traders. Litecoin has reached multi-year highs on the back of strong consensus about its future with SegWit enabled. ViaBTC, the mining pool known for its strong support for Bitcoin Unlimited, polled its operators to decide whether to activate the Segwit scaling solution. Cointelegraph spoke to Valery Vavilov, BitFury CEO, about mining, government Blockchain implementation, the first SegWit block mined and future plans of his company. As SegWit support reaches 91% by some sources, Bitcoin’s price is creeping up on new all-time highs.
